Almas del Silencio (English: Souls from the Silence) is the seventh album and the first Spanish language album by Ricky Martin since 1998's Vuelve. It was released on May 20, 2003. Martin collaborated with many new producers around the world for Almas del Silencio. The album has sold over one million copies, worldwide.Almas del Silencio debuted at number one on the US Top Latin Albums and stayed there for six weeks. On the Billboard 200, it peaked at number twelve and was certified 4× Platinum Latin award by the RIAA. In the first week, Almas del Silencio has sold more than 65,000 copies in the US, and 261,000 in total. The album reached top ten in Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Norway and Finland. Outside the United States, it was certified Platinum in Spain and Argentina, and Gold in Mexico and Switzerland. Almas del Silencio includes three Hot Latin Songs number ones: "Tal Vez" (eleven weeks at the top), "Jaleo" and "Y Todo Queda en Nada". "Asignatura Pendiente" peaked at number five. "Jaleo" was released as the first international single, reaching number one in Spain. The follow-up international single, "Juramento" peaked at number eleven in Spain. Almas del Silencio was nominated at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2004 for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. It won Latin Pop Album of the Year, Male at the 2004 Latin Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Award for Favorite Latin Artist.
